Methodology and sources
The approved list
CMS's own summary: "358 approved CCNs across 134 health systems in 37 states" (source). We show 361 rows because the CMS table lists a few systems as a single row.
We copy the "Approved Facilities/Systems for Acute Hospital Care at Home" table published by CMS on QualityNet. The current copy says "Updated as of 10/19/2026" and summarizes it as "358 approved CCNs across 134 health systems in 37 states". The table has 361 hospital rows. A few systems appear as one row, and the table doesn't include CCNs, so our row count isn't the same as CMS's CCN count. When a row has no hospital name (shown as "-"), we treat the system as the hospital.
Hospital details
We add the address, CCN, type, and CMS overall star rating from the CMS Provider Data Catalog Hospital General Information file (modified July 22, 2026), but only when the hospital name and state match exactly one record. 153 of 361 rows matched. We never guess the rest.
What we don't do
We don't rank hospitals or call any "best" or "safest". We make no medical claims, and we aren't affiliated with or endorsed by CMS. CMS's patient-level program data (released through ResDAC under a data use agreement) isn't used.
Corrections
If a listing looks wrong, check it against the CMS source. Data is refreshed from CMS by hand for now.
